Spanning 235 km, this valuable pipeline will bring over 1 billion cubic feet of natural gas per day to Alberta’s industrial heartland.
This is the same amount of daily energy as the entire Alberta electricity grid working at peak demand. This critical power source will create well-paying jobs and enhance the efficiency of our natural gas network.
Communities all along the Yellowhead Pipeline route stand to benefit from increased employment during the construction phase and continued job creation once it’s operational.

Latest update
We filed a regulatory application in September 2024 to establish the need for the Yellowhead Pipeline project. We are excited to share that we received approval from the AUC in August 2025.
In November, we filed our second regulatory application to the AUC to seek approval for construction and operation of the physical infrastructure.
